Step 5 ("we", "us") operates step5app.com and the Step 5 mobile application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our services.
Information We Collect
Account information (name, email), merchandise order information (shipping name and address, ordered items, payment and fulfillment status), profile information (position, school, stats, highlights, profile photo), training data (workouts completed, drills viewed, progress, injury and recovery logs you choose to enter), photos and videos you upload, and messages or questions you send in the app. Payment processing is handled by Stripe and Apple; we do not store full card details.
How We Use Information
To provide and personalize your training experience, connect you with trainers and coaches, generate AI training content, and improve our features.
AI Features
Step 5's AI tools (such as AI Coach, Nutrition AI, Heal & Recovery AI and drill reviews) send what you type, plus related profile and training details such as your sport, position and goals, to third-party AI model providers through our platform provider, Base44, to generate responses. We ask for your permission before any AI feature is used, and you can turn this off anytime in Profile. AI responses are for education only and are not medical advice.
Advertising & Tracking
We use the Meta Pixel to measure and personalize Step 5 ads on Facebook and Instagram. In the iOS app, the Meta Pixel runs only if you allow tracking when the app asks (App Tracking Transparency); you can change this anytime in iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking. On our website, the Meta Pixel may record page visits.
Sharing
We do not sell your data. We share information with service providers only as needed to operate the service: Base44 (hosting, database and AI processing), third-party AI model providers (AI features, with your permission), Meta (advertising measurement, with your permission), Stripe (merchandise payments), and our email provider. Shipping details are used to fulfill merchandise orders and may be shared with delivery providers. Your public profile is visible to other Step 5 users, and we share information with trainers and coaches you choose to connect with.
Data Retention & Deletion
You can delete your account at any time in the app under Profile > Delete Account. This permanently removes your account, profiles and training data. Order and payment records may be kept as required for legal and accounting purposes. You can also request deletion by contacting info@step5app.com.
